Indigenous Information Sources
(Video Interview)

We have interviewed Mr. Ramon Raphael Montierro, the Grade 11 Batch Representative of Manila Science High School. We asked him some questions in connection to indigenous media and information sources. The interview was recorded in a video format and its link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2hqt-ZeCYo&feature=youtu.be. And here is the transcript of the said interview:

What is your role in the school community?
"Ako yung Grade 11 Batch Rep. ng Supreme Student Government for the year 2017-2018."

What is the type of information that you are responsible for or the information that you receive and pass on to the school community?
"As the Grade 11 Batch Rep, trabaho ko na ibigay yung mga information na mula sa SSG papunta dun sa batch ko. So some of those information, for example, is yung projects ng SSG, school announcements, and kung meron bang mga issues na kailangang i-address."

How is the type of information that you handle helpful to the school community? In what ways does passing on this information help the school community?
"Nakakatulong yung information na binibigay ko sa batch ko kasi napapanatili silang informed sa kung anong nangyayari ngayon sa school and for example, kung may school announcements man, nakakatulong ito sa kanila. Kumbaga, kasi nalalaman agad nila and alam nilang totoo kasi galing sa akin at galing iyon sa school. Thank you ^_^ "

How do you know that the information you pass on is true?
"Some of the information na pinapass/na binibigay ko sa batch ko is galing mismo sa amin, sa SSG. Kung ano yung sinasabi at napagmemeeting namin sa SSG, yun yung binibigay ko rin sa batch ko. And then, another one is yung sa school announcements. Hindi ako nag-aannounce or hindi ko shineshare yung information sa batch ko kapag hindi yun galing mismo sa office or sa administration ng school."

Are these pieces of information available in popular media?
"Yung iba sa kanila, available. Kasi, for example, yung announcement ng mga walang pasok. And then some, binibigay ko na lang by posting through Facebook or sa Twitter."
